South Jordan— Downeast announced the official opening date of their newly renovated concept home furnishings and lifestyle store in the District Shopping Center in South Jordan. Starting November 12, the new location will be open for regular business. The store is located at 11560 District Main Dr Suite 400 in South Jordan, and normal business hours are Monday to Saturday 10 am to 8 pm.
The District Shopping Center is located in South Jordan in south Salt Lake County, which is designated as a county with a high level of transmission, or a “red” zone, in the recent updates by Governor Herbert. In compliance with state restrictions, all employees and customers will be required to wear masks, social distancing of six feet or more will be implemented, hand sanitizing stations will be set up in the store, and the number of customers in the store will be limited.
Downeast CEO Rich Isrealsen said, “Launching a new concept store at this time has a few more hurdles than normal, but we’re carefully considering how to make this as safe as possible. Our team takes the health of our customers and employees very seriously, and the Governor’s guidelines will be enforced by our staff.” Isrealsen continued, “We’ve seen how interested people are in adding more comfort to their homes, and we want to be an affordable but exciting option for them as soon as possible. “
The new store includes exciting new features that promote an elevated, customizable home design experience. The Design Center features free advice from professional interior designers and a tactile area to test swatches, styles, and accessories. The Zen room is a quiet area for customers to step away from the decision-making process that can make furniture shopping so overwhelming. A specially designed community section will highlight local artists and different workshops. Offering a new lighting gallery and an expanded assortment of accessories with a curated feel are other new elements of the store.
Along with the store renovation, Downeast will launch an upgraded website with expanded ecommerce capabilities. The brand-new interface will be more user friendly and include more detailed information about products. Customers will also be able to order free fabric swatches on the site to test in their homes. These changes, both in-store and online, will provide customers with a comprehensive and experiential shopping experience.
