Springville— On September 11, Tamarak Capital will hold the Venture Fuel Summit, designed to educate and inspire Utah’s high-growth ventures. Both virtual and in-person tickets are available, with the in-person event at the Slopes Event Center in Draper, Utah.
Keaton Hatch, partner and CEO of Tamarak, which launched the conference, said, “Startups go on such a unique journey, and we felt like there wasn’t a venue for them to discuss the challenges, lessons, and specific content they need to be successful. The Venture Fuel Summit is now that venue, with talented Utah founders and advisers sharing their knowledge.”
David Binetti, six-time founder including of Quicken, is one of the highlighted speakers for the event, as well as Dave Sparks of Discovery Channel’s “Diesel Brothers.” Additional featured speakers are founders and executives at Pura, APiO, Journeyfront, Malouf, Divvy, Everee, Zenovate, and others. Presentations will focus on startup success stories and items essential to growth in startups: lean methodology, leadership, operations—including a workshop on intellectual property. The full list of speakers is available at venturefuelsummit.com/speakers.
Bruno Lima, who founded and leads Pura, one of Utah Valley’s fastest-growing ventures, said, “Utah is an incredible place for startups, and the Venture Fuel Summit represents the state’s unique creativity and collaboration. There’s no better place to learn about what it takes to run a successful startup—from the people who have done it already.” Lima will be speaking at the event.
A unique facet is the startup competition, hosted by VentureCapital.org, where various start-up teams will compete in a live-pitch event to active investors on Sept. 4. Two finalists will deliver a 10-minute pitch to investors at the Summit, and a panel of investor and entrepreneur judges will choose a winner to receive a package of services from select event partners.
Tickets for the conference, both virtual and in-person, are available at venturefuelsummit.com.
The in-person portion of the Venture Fuel Summit will adhere to Salt Lake County health guidelines (which currently require face coverings) throughout the Venture Fuel Summit. In-person attendees will have a non-touch temperature taken before entering the building and spaced seating will be maintained. Immunocompromised or otherwise high-risk attendees should plan to attend the virtual conference.
