West Valley— One of Utah’s first enclosed shopping centers, Valley Fair, is celebrating its 50th anniversary while it also welcomes new businesses. In an effort to include customers in the celebration, Valley Fair has planned several events and programs throughout the year to recognize the milestone.
“Valley Fair has been an integral part of West Valley City for decades, serving as a community gathering point, an event destination, and an activity center,” says West Valley City Manager Wayne T. Pyle. “In addition, the quality retail and dining options draw visitors from throughout the valley. It is a vital part of the ongoing redevelopment of West Valley City’s downtown area, and we look forward to it being part of our community for decades to come.”
Over the years, Valley Fair has evolved and flourished. As one of the main economic drivers in West Valley City, the property has continued to add vital retail opportunities that included the development of a ‘town square’ and several pad and outparcel locations on the west side of the property. In addition, this past year several national and regional stores opened, including Old Navy, Hobby Lobby and All-Star Bowling & Entertainment with more to come.
“Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are excited to celebrate our 50th year and are pleased that a diverse array of businesses from restaurants to retail, including some that are locally owned, have found their new homes at Valley Fair,” says Casey Bulkley, Valley Fair’s General Manager. “We are committed to making Valley Fair the best shopping, dining and entertainment destination in the region for our customers.”

Valley Fair has implemented several safety protocols to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. In the food court, many tables have been eliminated with the remaining ones placed more than six feet apart and sanitized following each use. Hand sanitizer stations have been placed throughout the property while abundant signage encourages social distancing, hand washing, and the use of masks. The center has also purchased thousands of masks that are distributed to customers by guest services and security staff. High touch points, such as door handles, are sanitized multiple times throughout the day.
