Silicon Slopes is pleased to announce that Brandon Fugal, Chairman of Colliers International in Utah and one of the region’s most influential business leaders, has been appointed to its Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2025.

Recognized nationally for his leadership in real estate, technology investment, and economic development, Fugal has played a key role in shaping Utah’s modern business landscape. As Chairman of Colliers Utah, he leads the state’s top commercial real estate firm, responsible for billions of dollars in developments including tech campuses, master-planned communities, and infrastructure critical to Utah’s innovation economy.

In addition to real estate, Fugal is an active investor and entrepreneur across technology, life sciences, and aerospace. He has served on numerous boards, championed Utah’s economic expansion, and was named EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year in 2016. His influence extends beyond business—he is also widely recognized for revitalizing landmark properties like the historic Newhouse building and for his philanthropic involvement in education, homelessness, and healthcare.

“We are honored to welcome Brandon to the Silicon Slopes Board,” said Clint Betts, CEO and Chair of Silicon Slopes. “His ability to see the future and build toward it has shaped Utah into a destination for innovation. His passion for our state and its people will make an incredible impact on our work.”

Fugal’s appointment represents a strategic alignment between Silicon Slopes and Utah’s broader economic development goals. Known for his belief in “building ecosystems, not just buildings,” Fugal brings a long-term vision that resonates deeply with Silicon Slopes’ mission to elevate Utah’s tech economy while ensuring inclusive community growth.

“Brandon embodies the spirit of Silicon Slopes—bold, collaborative, and deeply committed to the future of Utah,” said Tiffany Vail, COO of Silicon Slopes. “His expertise in infrastructure, strategic investment, and regional development will be invaluable as we expand our work in connectivity, workforce, and innovation hubs.”

Fugal joins a distinguished Board of Directors that includes Ryan Smith, Founder and Executive Chairman of Qualtrics; Jeremy Andrus, CEO of Traeger Grills; Aaron Skonnard, Co-Founder and Special Advisor to the Board and CEO of Pluralsight; Josh James, CEO of Domo; Carine Clark, CEO of First Colony Mortgage; Astrid Tuminez, President of Utah Valley University; Bradley Rencher, CEO of BambooHR; and Clint Betts, CEO & Chair of Silicon Slopes.

“I am excited and honored to join the Silicon Slopes Board of Directors,” said Brandon Fugal. “Utah is uniquely positioned for continued innovation and leadership on the national stage. I look forward to working with this remarkable team to foster bold ideas, attract world-class talent, and continue building a future we can all be proud of.”
