Park City Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau named a Green Destinations Top 100 Award Winner

Park City, UT — This Earth Day, Park City Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau proudly announces its recognition as a winner of the prestigious Green Destinations Top 100 Story Awards. Park City secured third place in the highly competitive “Business and Marketing” category for its exemplary work with the Green Business Program, recognizing Park City’s outstanding contributions to sustainability, community engagement and responsible tourism practices.

“The Green Business Program is just one of many ongoing projects outlined in our Sustainable Tourism Plan. With each and every initiative, we have been proud of the local community’s willingness to collaborate to embrace these efforts and promote destination stewardship,” said Morgan Mingle, Director of Sustainable Tourism at Park City Chamber & Visitors Bureau. “As we continue with our long-term plan, we remain committed to actively involving the community, from hosting lunch & learns to celebrating our extraordinary community members through the Beyond the Frontline series.”

Originally launched in 2016 by the Park City nonprofit, Recycle Utah, the Green Business Program engaged local businesses to set waste reduction goals. With collaborative efforts of the Green Business Advisory Committee, composed of the Park City Municipal Corporation, Summit County, Recycle Utah, Park City Community Foundation and Park City Chamber of Commerce, the program expanded to encompass energy efficiency, water conservation, materials management, transportation and community equity. As of June 2023, 65 businesses have started the process of joining the Green Business Program. Additionally, three successful Green Business Lunch & Learns have sold out attendance each time.
