Moab — The Synergy Company™ is pleased to announce the appointment of Thatcher Vagts as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Vagts is a decades long employee of The Synergy Company, with a certified-organic manufacturing facility in Moab, Utah and offices in Boulder, Colorado. Vagts brings with him a strong connection and deep alignment with The Synergy Company’s uncompromising sustainability practices, and a wealth of knowledge about the nutrition and supplement industry. 

Vagts began working at the company in 2009. He steadily accepted more responsibility, including initiating multiple companywide projects, travelling the world to reinforce enduring relationships with growers and suppliers, and facilitating a rapid expansion of Synergy’s branded product line, Pure Synergy®. Vagts most recently served as the company’s President of Operations, supporting a large and diverse team in Moab.

Over the years, Vagts demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the company’s mission to nourish and enhance the life experiences of its customers and employees by offering certified organic nutritional products of the highest quality. While overseeing Synergy’s Research and Development department, he helped The Synergy Company bring more than 25 new and innovative products to market, several have won awards from Delicious Living Magazine, Better Nutrition Magazine, and SupplySide West. 

Vagts cares deeply for The Synergy Company’s employees and the communities in which it does business. He was instrumental in formalizing Synergy’s robust community outreach program, which contributed more than $100,000 to local non-profit organizations in 2020.

Vagts’ path to the executive office from within Synergy’s ranks included multiple forms of education and professional development. He received direct mentorship and industry training from Mitchell May, which was grounded in The Synergy Company’s unwavering commitment to quality and innovation. Vagts spent years learning about the regulatory framework necessary to operate the Company’s FDA regulated manufacturing facility located in Moab. Seeking to further his professional knowledge and career, Vagts enrolled in Utah State University’s Executive MBA program. He earned his MBA in 2019.
