Orem—The Muller Company and Canyon Park Technology Center located in Orem, Utah have been selected to receive a “Big Check” from Rocky Mountain Power’s (RMP) Wattsmart Energy Efficiency program for commercial and industrial customers on Thursday, March 12, 2020. 

Canyon Park Technology Center is a collection of thirteen (13) low-rise office buildings totaling 910,433 square feet and situated on eighty-five (85) acres.  Energy efficiency projects have included LED lighting retrofits; decommissioning of old CRAC/UPS systems and numerous HVAC upgrades.  The recognition from RMP is related to Canyon Park’s first-year success surrounding the Energy Project Manager (EPM) co-funding program.  During the 2019/2020 cofunding period, Canyon Park saved over 3,338,142 kWh and received $193,323.00 in incentives for their efficiency efforts.

“Commercial buildings consume considerable amounts of energy and many need energy-efficiency upgrades”, says The Muller Company’s general manager, Justin Farnsworth. “We’ve assembled a great team to create valuable opportunities for Canyon Park to save energy, save money and improve tenant comfort at the buildings.”

The Muller Company and Canyon Park staff have been working diligently to positively impact efforts to increase energy efficiency and sustainability for the tenants throughout the park.  “Our goal is to promote energy efficiency, conservation, and continue to benchmark our buildings to ensure a more sustainable campus. Prospective tenants demand efficient and environmental-friendly buildings, energy upgrades for improved performance keeps us competitive in the marketplace and will help us deliver on our economic development and energy efficiency goals”, stated Farnsworth.

Rocky Mountain Power will present the “Big Check” to The Muller Company and Canyon Park Technology Center’s staff on Thursday, March 12, 2020, at the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of Utah luncheon, 11:30 am. – 1:00 p.m. at the Marriott Salt Lake City.
