What is the most rewarding thing about working in HR?

There’s no other career I could have chosen that would give me the deep satisfaction of working with teammates to strike the sometimes challenging balance of taking great care of our team members and ensuring we achieve business goals. 

Was there a pivotal moment in your life that brought you into your field?

Many years ago, I decided to apply for an HR position that I didn’t feel qualified for. I was intimated by those who had also applied for the role — one of whom was my manager. The strong yearning to grow professionally and contribute much more than I was able to do in my current role won out. I decided to go for it. I’ve often thought about all that I would have missed if I hadn’t taken that chance.
