Davis Technical College awarded Best of State

Kaysville, UT — Davis Technical College (Davis Tech) proudly announces its recognition as the 2024 Best of State for the category of Vocational Training-Public. The award was presented at the Best of State Gala at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City on Friday, May 24, 2024. This honor underscores Davis Tech’s steadfast commitment to educational excellence and positive community impact.

As an innovative training institution offering 35 programs that prepare a technically skilled workforce for Utah’s employers, Davis Tech is a leader in technical education for the state of Utah and the nation. From healthcare to manufacturing, it teaches at its main campus, local high schools, the Millcreek Youth Center for incarcerated juveniles, and the Utah Department of Corrections.

Davis Tech’s impact on its community partners takes many forms. Staff consult with business leaders to create state-of-the-industry programs, so students are ready to contribute on day one. Their on-campus Business Resource Center provides entrepreneurs with resources to start or grow their businesses. Additionally, they offer valuable community services, including a bi-weekly free dental clinic for households below 150% of the federal poverty index.

The past year has been a year of accolades for Davis Tech. It has received awards for Davis Chamber of Commerce Employer of the Year, Utah Department of Corrections Champion of Corrections, Best of Davis County-Vocational School, and Best of Northern Utah-Technical College, as well as being included on the governor’s list of the 100 Companies Championing Women in Utah.

“We are honored to receive the Best of State Award,” said Davis Tech President Darin Brush. This is a testament to the dedicated and remarkable work our faculty, staff, trustees, and partners are doing to deliver exceptional technical education.”
