Club Ability founder awarded prestigious Utah Governor’s Science Medal

Salt Lake City—Juliette Bautista Barahona, a pioneer in STEM education and digital literacy, and the founder of Club Ability, has been honored with the Utah Governor’s Science Medal for her outstanding contribution to technological and educational advancement in the state. Since its inception in 2020, Club Ability has been pivotal in promoting educational inclusion, offering bilingual programs that have benefited nearly 1,000 students, including low-income families, the Latinx community, and people with disabilities.

Juliette expressed her deep gratitude and vision, emphasizing the collective achievement and the shared commitment to bridging gaps through technology, regardless of race, language, and gender. She dedicated this award to the Club Ability community and highlighted the invaluable support of her daughter, Jimena, among others.

The award ceremony is scheduled for April 12, 2024, where Juliette’s achievements will be officially recognized. Club Ability invites the community and the media to celebrate this milestone and to continue supporting their educational mission.
