Salt Lake City—Stack Homes’ first accessory dwelling unit (ADU) will be installed by crane in the Granary District on October 11th, 2022. In October 2018, Salt Lake City passed an ordinance allowing ADUs to be placed in backyards. They can be utilized in several ways including studios, guest homes and short and long-term rentals offering property owners the extra space when they need it, an increase in property value, and extra income by renting to achieve home ownership and mortgage payments. This modular ADU will be providing supplemental investment income to the property owner.
