Jim Holland is a co-founder and director of Backcountry. He was a member of the U.S. Ski Team for nine years and is a six-time national champion and two-time Olympian. A founding member of USA Nordic Sport, Jim continues to financially support and strategize for the development of USA Ski Jumping and Nordic combined. Their mission is to help kids build courage, confidence and character through sport. Through a charitable trust that he created after the sale of the majority of Backcountry, Jim supports environmental causes, education and research relating to regenerative medicine and neurological disorders. He has funded exciting and innovative initiatives at top universities such as Yale University, Stanford, the University of Texas at Austin, the University of South Florida, the University of Wisconsin and the University of Kentucky. Jim enjoys working with entrepreneurs and is involved in a number of early-stage ventures. He splits his time between Park City, Utah and Austin, Texas, lovingly supported by his wife Analea and daughters Lizzie and Juniper.
