Squire & Company wins two Utah worksite Wellness Council awards

Salt Lake City — Squire & Company (www.squire.com), Utah’s trusted accounting partner for nearly 50 years, announced today that it received two awards from the Utah Worksite Wellness Council (UWWC), recognizing its extraordinary efforts in prioritizing mental health and the overall well-being of employees amidst a tumultuous year of change. The firm was exclusively awarded the Emotional Innovation Award and took home the Silver Healthy Worksite Award at UWWC’s Innovate to Elevate Annual Conference, last week.

Squire received the two awards for the firm’s new programs and reinforced processes to help support employees’ mental health. As day-to-day operations shifted to a remote landscape, Squire began hosting water cooler meetings, with a multitude of activities to alleviate stress and enhance personal connection. The firm also promoted wellness by holding several activities such as virtual yoga, a virtual retreat, and a bingo challenge that encouraged employees to complete challenges relating to health to be entered in a drawing to win gift cards to local establishments.

“We are overjoyed to have won these awards, as they validate the efforts that we have made to uplift morale, enhance connection, and prioritize our employees’ needs over the past year,” says Jonyce Bullock, CEO of Squire & Company. “Our firm truly values personal connection, and we will continue to find innovative ways to stay connected and enhance employee satisfaction for years to come.”

To showcase the firm’s appreciation for its employees in 2020, Squire initiated a new care package effort that has been distributed to associates several times since origination and has included items such as a COVID-19 survival pack, Bluetooth headphones, head-scratchers, and more. To coincide with these more lighthearted programs, the firm continued to promote its Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that provided training on how to recognize concerns of added stress and help others, amongst other topics.

The UWWC’s Healthy Worksite Awards Program recognizes Utah employers for their exemplary work in worksite wellness and those committed to improving employee health and well-being. The Silver achievement level recognizes organizations expanding programming and aligning their efforts with the organization’s priorities. The purpose of the Worksite Innovation Award is to recognize employers who have developed and successfully implemented an innovative approach to some aspect of worksite wellness. The award consists of multiple categories with one winner for each. Squire was selected for the Emotional Innovation Award for its efforts in promoting personal connection and enhancing employee well-being throughout a uniquely challenging year.

Squire recently received additional recognition for its efforts to enhance employee satisfaction and well-being. In December 2020, Squire was named one of Utah Business’s “Best Companies to Work for” for the third year in a row. This recognition is determined by a rigorous vetting process using Qualtrics survey technology that surveys employees on their satisfaction in many areas. Squire continues to strive to be a company its employees are proud to be a part of.
