Utah nonprofit completes executive team with new CFO

Salt Lake City– Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals announced that Frances Fu is welcomed to the executive team as Chief Financial Officer. Effective today, Fu will oversee the nonprofit’s national financial teams, as well as the organization’s business intelligence and data programs.

Fu is the final addition to the nonprofit’s executive team, joining President & Chief Executive Officer, Teri Nestel, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, Clark Sweat, and Chief Programs and Marketing Officer, Maureen Carlson.

Before joining CMN Hospitals, Fu served as the CFO of RET Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on investing in real estate technology companies and was responsible for the financial operations of RET’s $250 million funds. She simultaneously worked as a management consultant, providing operational, financial and strategic planning support for start-up and small businesses.

“CMN Hospitals’ mission and vision immediately spoke to me: through the power of our network, communities will unite to change kids’ health to change the future,” shared Fu. “I’m honored to not only be part of this organization’s journey but help guide along the way.”

Along with significant financial experience, Fu brings philanthropic and healthcare expertise with her move. Prior to her relocation to Utah, Fu was the President of ProCure Proton Therapy Center, a cancer treatment facility focused on proton radiation therapy. During her tenure with ProCure, she co-founded the ProCure Cancer Foundation, a company-supported non-profit developed to assist cancer patients.

“We’re delighted to welcome Frances to the CMN Hospitals network,” said Teri Nestel, CMN Hospitals’ President & CEO. “Among her many talents, she has shown herself to be a data-driver, a strategic planner and a relationship builder – the ideal characteristics and values to drive our collective mission undoubtedly further to Change Kids Health and Change the Future.”

Fu also served as a Healthcare Investment Banker with Banc of America Securities in New York and worked at Ernst & Young, LLP prior to that. She received her MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from NYU Stern School of Business.

To date, CMN Hospitals has raised more than $7 billion in unrestricted funds for 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada. Changing kids’ health through children’s hospitals isn’t just about helping those in critical situations – it’s also about the research, preventative care, health and safety education that help build healthier communities. By improving medical treatments, equipment and facilities, children’s hospitals can not only address the most challenging health issues of our day but also prevent and prepare for those to come.
