Bank of Utah hires two experienced mortgage lenders to serve in Salt Lake City and Lindon

Ogden — Bank of Utah recently selected Don Nielsen and Rick Northcott to serve as mortgage loan officers.

Thirty-year financial industry veteran, Don Nielsen, has joined Bank of Utah as a mortgage loan officer at City Creek Bank Center, 50 South 200 East in Salt Lake City. For nearly 20 years Nielsen served as director of servicing risk management and vice president of mortgage servicing for Select Portfolio Servicing, where he managed multiple departments including mortgage advance control, investor accounting and assignment completion. Additionally, Nielsen worked for more than 10 years as vice president of operations and systems for American Express Centurion Bank in Salt Lake City. He is an innovator of technological solutions that save time and money.

Nielsen holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah and a Master of Science in Management Information Systems from the John M. Huntsman School of Business at Utah State University. Nielsen also earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Weber State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Utah licensed loan officer, Rick Northcott, with seven-plus years of customer service and sales experience, has joined Bank of Utah’s mortgage lending team in the branch at 144 South State Street, Lindon. Northcott is proficient in all phases of sales and is knowledgeable of federal lending regulations governing mortgage law and of general accounting and finance.

Most recently Northcott worked for Paramount Residential Mortgage Group on the Driggs Mortgage Team, where he originated and closed on all mortgage related lending, brokered out lending for non-QM programs, new construction, development/acquisition and commercial lending, and built and maintained a pipeline of prospects. He earned his Associate degree in network and telecommunications engineering technology from Okanagan University College in British Columbia.
