New things to do at Amangiri announced for summer

Southern Utah — In one of the world’s most dramatically secluded settings lies Amangiri in southern Utah, the ideal destination for those looking to push the boundaries of adventure travel, discover the pinnacle of intimate settings and recenter to find serenity. A short drive from Amangiri is the tented retreat of Camp Sarika, a back-to-the-wild experience. The camp’s cluster of 10 canvas-topped pavilions, each with a private plunge pool, is an enclave of meditative seclusion.

Between its 600 acres of awe-inspiring landscapes, holistic wellness offerings, and robust list of exhilarating outdoor activities, Amangiri has a variety of new offerings this summer:

Staying
For the ultimate rejuvenating stay experience, Amangiri is featuring a Restore & Rebalance exclusive offer that incorporates healing Navajo traditions and revitalizing treatments and activities. The experience includes:

  • A two-night stay.
  • All meals included (except alcohol).
  • One 15-minute wellness consultation.
  • One 30-minute Crystal Sound Bath.
  • One 60-minute massage per person (up to two guests) at the world-class Aman Spa, a 25,000-square-foot haven with a water pavilion, sauna, steam room, cold plunge, and outdoor private pavilions.
  • Choice of one activity for two guests (Via Ferrata, horseback riding or Three Canyon Tour)
  • One private dinner for two served in-suite (excluding alcoholic beverages).
  • *Available to book for any 2-night stay or longer.

Thrill Seeking
Invented centuries ago in the Italian Alps, a Via Ferrata (‘iron road’) is a series of cables and ladder rungs, fixed to the rock face to enable the ascent of steep mountain routes. The climbs and drops can be an adrenaline ride but also offer an opportunity to get up close to the fascinating geology of the terrain.

Amangiri’s newest adventure offering is the Cave Peak Stairway, an aerial stairway that is the longest climb of its kind in the Northern Hemisphere. There are 120 steps that span 200 feet in length and hover 400 feet about the rugged desert with 160-million-year-old rock escarpments. If that’s too daring for some, Amangiri offers a variety of other via ferrata challenges.

Guests are also welcome to explore the property at their own pace along the 12 miles of designated trails, offering the opportunity to uncover archaeological and natural wonders.

Exploring
With thousands of miles of untouched scenery surrounding Amangiri, which lies at the gateway to major national parks in the Colorado Plateau, guests are encouraged to discover the ancient landscape in their own ways. From canyoneering and cultural insights to excursions by air, bike, boat or on horseback, a few of the resort’s standout signature experiences include:

  • Explore the Colorado Plateau: With the highest concentration of national parks in America, the Colorado Plateau offers endless opportunities to explore the likes of Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park by air, by car, and on foot. Amangiri’s in-house and local guides can develop custom itineraries of any length to suit guest’s interests and preferred form of transport.
  • Monument Valley & Navajo Nation Slot Canyons: Located on the Navajo Reservation and almost completely undeveloped, Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park remains much the same as it did a millennium ago. A variety of air and ground tours are available. Among the most popular tours are the serene and awe-inspiring slot canyons, which are a geological marvel and easily accessible from Amangiri. Led by a Navajo guide, this tour includes three distinct and iconic canyons of the southwest.
  • Explore Nearby Lake Powell: Navigate the vast reservoir of Lake Powell by kayak, take a stand-up paddleboard across the glassy waters, or explore from the comfort of boat on a full- or half-day tour of the lake, taking in the most remarkable natural feature – the 290-foot freestanding arch known as the Rainbow Bridge.
  • Horseback Riding on the Plateau: Explore the sweeping Utah desert with Amangiri’s seasoned wranglers. Riding trails available both in the area immediately around the resort and beyond. More challenging rides include ridge-top hacks high above the maze of ridges and canyons.
