New Kirkland & Ellis office opens in Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City — Kirkland & Ellis announced today that it is opening an office in Salt Lake City, as part of its continued strategy to attract leading legal talent.

“With an extraordinary talent pool of highly skilled attorneys, as well as an excellent academic community, including Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School and University of Utah’s S.J. Quinney College of Law, having an office in Salt Lake City enhances our ability to attract exceptional legal talent and expand our capacity to meet increasing client demand,” says Jon A. Ballis, Chairman of Kirkland’s Executive Committee.

Corporate partner Travis Nelson and litigation partner Brigham Cannon, both alumni of BYU’s J. Reuben Clark Law School, and investment funds partner Warren Goodworth will be relocating to launch the new office.

“I went to BYU and know what a great community Salt Lake City is. We’re excited to now offer attorneys living in Salt Lake the opportunity to practice at Kirkland & Ellis, and the interest we‘ve received to date has been both exciting and energizing,” says Nelson.

The office will be located in downtown Salt Lake City at 60 E. South Temple.
