Mountain America Exposition Center reopens

Sandy— The Mountain America Exposition Center is pleased to announce the anticipated opening of the facility on July 01, 2020. After nearly three months of closure due to the continued Covid-19 Pandemic, Mountain America Exposition Center will finally open its doors and welcome back events that can meet certain health and safety procedures. In preparation for this opening, and with a hyper focused view on health and safety, Mountain America Exposition Center will be implementing a series of new policies and procedures designed to keep employees and attendees safe while inside the facility.

These new procedures include; enhanced cleaning and sanitization schedules, revised facility/room capacities, social distance reminders and monitoring, additional hand sanitizing stations, extensive pre-event planning discussions with event promoters and contract holders, and a plethora of additional safety and health standards described and communicated to all events within a new Covid-19 focused policies and procedures document. In addition to these enhanced policies and procedures, Salt Lake County has implemented a county wide public health order specific to face mask usage.

Under this order, any individual within Salt Lake County who is age two and over and able to medically or psychologically tolerate a face covering shall be required to wear a face covering that completely covers the nose and mouth in public areas where consistent social distancing of at least six feet is not possible, reasonable, or prudent. Additional guidance can be found at https://slco.org/health/COVID-/business/. It is the commitment of Mountain America Exposition Center to provide a safe facility for all, and to follow all advice and direction from Salt Lake County, the State of Utah, and other local and national health agencies. In order to properly address and meet the needs of the continued preven tion, response, and recovery of Covid-19, Mountain America Exposition Center is also pleased to announce its pursuit for the GBAC STAR facility accreditation.

This accreditation from The Global Biorisk Advisory Council (the lead- ing trade association for the cleaning industry) is another step towards providing a safe facility for all attendees and employees. In order to achieve the GBAC STAR accreditation Mountain America Exposition Center will demonstrate compliance with the program’s 20 elements, ranging from standard operating procedures to emergency prepared- ness and response measures. With these steps towards providing a safe facility in place, Mountain America Exposition Center is prepared to face the challenges of operating during these unprecedented and uncertain times.
