Utah Independent Business Coalition Sponsors Mayoral Debate

Salt Lake City—The Utah Independent Business Coalition is excited to sponsor the only Mayoral debate between candidates Erin Mendenhall and Luz Escamilla that will focus on issues specifically affecting locally-owned-small businesses. Debate questions will be submitted by UIBC members, owners of independently-owned, small businesses, and attendees will also have the opportunity to submit small business-related questions to the candidates during the debate.

Lara Jones, host of KRCL’s RadioACTive, will be moderating the debate to be held at the Salt Lake City Public Library (the debate co-sponsor) on October 23, 2019.

“The candidates are participating in many debates this year covering a wide range of issues. UIBC is excited to present a debate exclusively focused on issues affecting local, small business,” said UIBC president, Doug Burton. “Questions to the candidates will touch on economic incentives for business, the impact of growing commercial rent prices, the tax structure for small business, and affordable housing for employees.”

The debate is free and open to the public and will be held at the Salt Lake City Main Library in the Nancy Tess Auditorium. Doors open at 4:30pm with the debate beginning promptly at 5:00pm.
