Henriksen/Butler Opens Design Destination in Southern Utah
Local business Henriksen/Butler (H/B) has combined three St. George-based locations into a new, state-of-the-art facility. This move reflects the company’s passion for great space and sets a new bar for commercial design in Southern Utah.
Located just off Dixie Drive on the Santa Clara River near Tonaquint Park, (882 W 1600 S., St. George) this modern glass and natural concrete building respect the ecology and inherent beauty of its surroundings, both inside and out.
For CEO Dave Colling a project of this caliber is exactly what the St. George community is seeking. “As one of the country’s fastest-growing economies, we’re welcoming exciting new companies and a diverse workforce,” he explained. “We want to create the kind of workspace and showroom that local leaders, designers, and builders can look to for inspiration.”
Operating out of a small showroom on Main Street since 2007, and a flooring showroom off St. George Blvd. since 2015, Henriksen/Butler’s growth in Southern Utah mirrors the incredible pace of the local economy and necessitated the firm’s expansion to a larger facility.
Building something from the ground up allowed for significant design freedom. The firm worked diligently to create a facility that would inspire even the most discriminating design lover. For Colling and his team, this was a passion project and consideration was given to every detail and its value to local residents and the entire community.
Partnering with local firms MRW Architects, Riverwoods Mill, and Rick Edwards Design of Holland, MI, Henriksen/Butler is now occupying the first of three planned buildings in this new development. A second for Riverwoods Mill is scheduled to open in early fall, and a third multi-tenant building catering to design and construction-oriented firms will open in summer of 2020. Local market president, Mark Hendrickson said, “This will truly be a game-changer for design in Southern Utah. We couldn’t have done it without our incredible team of local partners.”
The H/B showroom, office, and warehouse features modern and classic furnishings by Herman Miller, storage solutions by Spacesaver and prefabricated interior construction innovations by DIRTT. A large studio-style showroom with an extensive offering of all categories of residential and commercial flooring.
