Google Fiber To Open Signups For More Residents Of Salt Lake City’s West Side
Salt Lake City―Google Fiber announced today that even more residents of Salt Lake City’s west side can sign up for Fiber’s superfast internet service.
The newly eligible service area of Poplar Grove will go online Tuesday, March 12, and additional neighborhoods will continue to open throughout the summer, including the Rosepark and Fairpark neighborhoods.
Residents living between Poplar Grove Blvd to I-80, Navajo Street to Redwood Road, are now eligible to sign up for the company’s suite of products, including its flagship product, Fiber 1000, which delivers up to 1,000 megabits per second of high-speed symmetrical broadband to their homes.
Residents of the area are encouraged to visit www.fiber.google.com/cities/saltlakecity/ to sign up for Google Fiber service or to register their email address to receive a notification of when service is available at their home.
“Google Fiber is excited to bring our gigabit services to even more residents of Salt Lake City’s west side,” said Jacob Brace, government & community affairs manager for Google Fiber. “Bringing super fast internet to Poplar Grove and nearby neighborhoods creates more access to jobs, education and streaming resources. We look forward to our continued work with Salt Lake City to bring these essential resources to even more communities.”
The newly opened service area is in addition to ongoing availability throughout Salt Lake City, including Sugar House, the East Bench, Jordan Meadows, Westpointe and Downtown.
Google Fiber also provides service to residents and businesses in Provo. Salt Lake City and Provo residents can see if their home, apartment or business is eligible for Google Fiber and sign up for service at www.fiber.google.com/cities/saltlakecity/. For those in areas where construction is not yet complete, they can also sign up online for updates and be among the first to know when Fiber is available in their area.
