Laura Pace | Founder & CEO | Metrodora Institute
A leading and highly regarded neurogastroenterologist, Dr. Pace is board certified from the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, and from the United Council of Neurologic Subspecialties in Autonomic Disorders. She has been a leader in the rare disease space for many years and for the past several years has served as the co-lead for the adult program for the University of Utah NIH Undiagnosed Diseases Network (NIH UDN) clinical site.
Angela Trego | Director | UAMMI
Dr. Trego’s motto “Efficient with Things, Effective with People,” succinctly describes her understanding of the technical creative process requiring both technical and interpersonal skills. Dr. Angela Trego, PE, PMP, held technical and senior leadership roles at Fortune 500 companies before focusing on her passions for teaching, coaching, and mentoring. She serves on several technical society advisory boards and non-profit executive boards. She has two patents and over 80 publications.
Lina Nilsson | VP of Product | Recursion Pharmaceuticals
Lina Nilsson is VP of Product at Recursion Pharmaceuticals, a company that is reimagining drug discovery through machine learning and large-scale experiment automation. Previously, she was the COO of Enlitic, a startup that uses deep learning in medical imaging to improve clinical diagnostics. Before this, she was the Innovation Director at the University of California, Berkeley, where she helped scale and spin out new social-impact technologies.
Katie-Rose Skelly | Co-founder & CTO | Known Medicine
Katie-Rose is co-founder and CTO at Known Medicine, which uses functional outcomes to determine the right treatment for every cancer patient. Prior to starting Known Medicine she spent several years identifying novel ways of determining drug efficacy at Recursion Pharmaceuticals, an AI for drug discovery company. She holds a MS in Biomedical Informatics and BS in Computer Science from Stanford University.
Tracy I. George, MD | President & Chief Medical Officer | ARUP Laboratories
Dr. George is the President and Chief Medical Officer at ARUP Laboratories and a professor of pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine. She completed her MD and residency training in anatomic pathology and laboratory medicine at the University of California San Francisco, with fellowships in hematopathology and surgical pathology at Stanford University. Dr. George is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology, and hematology by the American Board of Pathology.
Linda Cabrales | Director | Utah Innovation Center
Linda Cabrales works with Utah startups and small businesses in their pursuit of non-dilutive funding through the federal Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. She values meeting with entrepreneurs and companies to strategize on their next move to advance their company and products, mentors teams on obtaining investment, and sits on advisory boards sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for Utah’s vibrant ecosystem.
Yolanda Chong | SVP of Biology | Recursion Pharmaceuticals
In 2011, Yolanda was recruited to Janssen Pharmaceuticals with Johnson and Johnson to apply high-dimensional imaging approaches to their small molecule discovery pipeline. In 2017, she transitioned to Recursion to further advance this approach for small molecule therapeutics.
Mandy Rogers | Systems Engineering Director | Northrop Grumman
Mandy Rogers is currently the DevStar Systems Engineering Director in the Strategic Deterrent Systems Division at Northrop Grumman (NG). In this role, she leads, orchestrates, and facilitates integrated hardware-software functionality from conception, design, and execution of integrated functional capability. This allows NG to turn Model-Based Digital Design and Architecture into Agile capability that will provide demonstrable technology for the program’s major milestones, such as First Flight.
Olga Filippova | VP & Co-founder | Elphel, Inc
Olga Filippova is a vice-president and co-founder of Elphel, Inc. Filippova oversees the operations and logistics of the design and manufacturing of the Elphel camera: directing, optimizing, and coordinating product cycle, including camera calibration, testing, and image acquisition procedures
Liz Garske | Operations Manager | Ostrich Cyber-risk
Liz is Business Operations Manager at Ostrich Cyber-risk. Ostrich is the game-changing application for risk assessment. Prior to Ostrich, Liz was fortunate to successfully assist with the growth of Qualtrics. She has managed and advised several renowned artists in the fine art world. Liz has had impactful administration roles in leadership, marketing, public relations, business management, business development, client relations, brand strategy, and design.
