Cyprus Credit Union donates funds to plant trees to TreeUtah

West Jordan—In May 2019, Cyprus Credit Union employees were given the opportunity to purchase a small plant for their desks and donate profits to plant trees. In addition to the money raised by the employees, Cyprus ran a campaign giving $5 for every member who switched to e-statements. With the combined efforts of the employees and members, the resulting donation to TreeUtah is enough to plant nearly 1,000 trees in restoration projects in Utah.

Cyprus is committed to doing good for the environment. This renewed commitment has given the credit union the opportunity to encourage employees and members to eliminate as much paper as they can. In doing so, the credit union was able to donate to local nonprofit TreeUtah to plant the trees.

“We work to improve Utah’s quality of life for present and future generations by enhancing the environment through tree planting initiatives such as these,” said Amy May, executive director at TreeUtah. “Working with organizations like Cyprus Credit Union allows us to make a significant impact in preserving and caring for our beautiful state.”

Tree Utah expresses their gratitude to Cyprus Credit Union for supporting their unified mission to leverage trees to deliver countless benefits to the environment, economy, and the local community.
