Casey Cloward Receives National Homebuilder Award

Salt Lake City–Casey Cloward, owner of Raykon Construction based in Salem, recently received a national award of “Ones to Watch” at the National Home Builders’ (NAHB) International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas.

Mr. Cloward was honored in the custom builder division for all he has accomplished prior to the age of 40. He is the past president of the Utah Valley Home Builders Association (UVHBA) and chairs the Cougar House, a program that has $1.3 million in an endowed scholarship program for Brigham Young University. His business continues to excel, starting as a finish carpenter/cabinet builder in 2008 doing $100,000 in business to being the general contractor for 10-14,000 square foot homes valuing $2-4 million.

“When approached with this award, I considered it a huge honor to even be considered,” Mr. Cloward remarked. “There are so many who have helped along the way. To be recognized nationally from the industry’s best is humbling. It is very fulfilling to see the fruits of our labor. The support from my wife and family is unmatched.”

Speaking about the winners in the categories awarded, Rich Robinson, chair of the NAHB Young Professional Committee said, “These emerging leaders are already making quite the impact on the home building industry. We are thrilled to showcase these young professionals and look forward to seeing their continued growth and contributions to the industry.”

Mr. Cloward has built several homes spanning Utah Valley where several have been featured in the annual Utah Valley Parade of Homes sponsored by the UVHBA. Last year, his home in Alpine garnered the most attendees in the entire parade with over 19,000 people touring it. Combined with his home showcased in Salem, over 31,000 people walked through his two homes. Raykon Construction is building two more homes that will be featured in this year’s parade. “The Raykon team is as solid and dependable as they come. I’ve been fortunate with having some amazing clients.  To be able to work with them on their home truly is a dream come true for me,” explained Cloward.
