BambooHR announces new capabilities to enhance employee experience for distributed workforces

Provo — More than two years in the making on March 17th, 2021 Provo Regional Housing broke ground to build much-needed affordable housing units for the autistic, senior, and disabled community. Mountain West Commercial Real Estate’s agents Bill and Mary Street have been working with the Utah Regional Housing and Provo City Housing Authority for years, planning and scouting for the perfect location for a vision designed specifically to support the unique sensory needs of individuals with an autism spectrum disorder.

CEO of the Utah Regional Housing Corporation, Robert Vernon partnered with the Streets and relied on their expertise with the land purchase to capture the best location that supported the vision of the apartments; one that would bring inclusivity within the community, and secondly to share the ease of access to amenities such as grocery stores, shopping, senior services, and mass transportation. “Bill and Mary Street were pivotal to this project. Their expertise and knowledge in land and real estate in Utah County specifically, helped us find the best location and negotiation we could get for the facility we are now breaking ground on,” said Vernon.

85 North Apartments will be a 7 story, 74 unit building to address the significant shortage of affordable units for seniors, disabled, and adults with autism in Provo. Utah County currently has over 1,200 seniors that are very low-income renters not receiving any rental assistance. 85 North will provide 44 units for seniors and disabled individuals. The building will also provide 30 units specifically designed for adults with autism and ScenicView Academy will provide onsite services and support for these tenants.

“Our team loves partnering with organizations like Utah Regional Housing and projects like ScenicView Academy. It is an important part of our culture to use our skills to improve the quality of life in our community,” says Mary Street, an agent at Mountain West Commercial Real Estate.
