Qualtrics Renews Jersey Patch With Utah Jazz Through 2023
Salt Lake City—The Utah Jazz and Qualtrics today renewed their partnership, announcing that Qualtrics will continue as the sponsor of the Utah Jazz jersey patch through the 2022-23 season. Qualtrics will also continue as the Exclusive Fan Experience, Insights, and Analytics partner of the Utah Jazz.
In a transformative 2017 announcement, Qualtrics donated its sponsorship of the jersey patch to 5 For The Fight, the global campaign inviting everyone to donate $5 for the fight against cancer. It was the first-ever cause-related sponsorship in the history of North American professional sports and is the only cause-related jersey patch in the NBA.
Along with announcing the three-year extension, Qualtrics has reaffirmed its commitment to cancer research by continuing to donate the patch to 5 For The Fight through 2023. Qualtrics has sponsored the Jazz jersey patch for each of the last two seasons, and the 2019-20 campaign marks the final season of the initial agreement.
To date, 5 For The Fight has raised more than $24 million to help eradicate cancer. All funds raised are used to accelerate the pace of innovative cancer research by supporting revolutionary cancer researchers and cutting-edge medical centers around the world, including the Huntsman Cancer Institute in Salt Lake City.
The announcement was made today in a joint press conference featuring Gail Miller, owner and chairman of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies; Steve Starks, chief executive officer of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies; Ryan Smith, cofounder and CEO of Qualtrics and co-founder of 5 For The Fight; and Jim Olson, president of the Utah Jazz and Larry H. Miller Sports & Entertainment. They were joined by 5 Jazz players, Bojan Bogdanović, Mike Conley, Rudy Gobert, Joe Ingles and Donovan Mitchell, and 5 cancer fighters, who collectively represent cancer fighters everywhere: Emma Houston, Wyatt Page, Dani Phillips, Baylee Semrow, and Dave Warren.
The 5 cancer fighters were each signed to a symbolic $5 contract with the Utah Jazz, Qualtrics, and 5 For The Fight. The $5 represents the crowdfunding approach that 5 For The Fight established, inviting everyone to give $5 for the fight against cancer. The contracts engage the 5 cancer fighters to participate in 5 For The Fight Night on Oct. 30 when the Jazz host the L.A. Clippers at Vivint Smart Home Arena. The fighters will join the Jazz team on court during the national anthem, sit in VIP seats wearing personalized #5 jerseys, and lead the arena in a special third quarter moment honoring those who have fought or are fighting cancer.
In conjunction with the start of the season, the Jazz and Qualtrics have released a public service announcement that encourages fans to join the mission to eradicate cancer by giving $5 and includes Bogdanović, Conley, Gobert, Ingles and Mitchell alongside Smith.

The Utah Jazz and Qualtrics will continue to support cancer research by integrating 5 For The Fight across highly visible Jazz platforms, ranging from in-game activations to a presence among broadcast and social media assets. The team will join with Qualtrics to again host 5 For The Fight Night at two Jazz games each season.
5 For The Fight has also encouraged organizations to get involved through employee giving, where staff donate at least $5 per pay period to the fight against cancer year-round. Employee giving has made it possible for 5 For The Fight to fund groundbreaking cancer research at leading institutes throughout Australia, Europe, the Middle East and the United States.
