Accomplishments: After graduating from MIT with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Vicky Thomas moved to Utah to join Adobe as a product manager. She later transitions to Lucid Software, where she helped the company hone its Lucidpress software and pivot its product strategy to focus on Enterprise. Thomas recently joined Vivint Smart Home as a senior product manager. “As an engineering undergrad, I knew I wanted to work in technology—but I wanted to find a role that would be dynamic, collaborative and fast-paced. Product management is just that. The healthy mix of technology, business, design and customer interaction keeps me on my toes and excited to come to work!”
A passion for STEM: “I’m passionate about STEM education and inspiring kids to love science and math. FIRST Robotics is a particularly great organization that got me excited about STEM when I was in high school, and I’m thrilled to be able to support FIRST here in Utah with my time and money as an adult.”
Lessons learned: “I wish I’d spent less time strategizing (about projects, and my career in general), and more time doing. As the saying goes, ‘good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment.’”
