Vucci Launches, Helping Utah Businesses Turn IT into Profit

Incorporating the right technology into a business can be expensive, especially in these times when everyone is feeling an extra pinch. Few companies out there seem to have a solution that makes technology affordable and even safe for the environment.

Vucci, a new technology solutions company, is working to change this assumption as well as the way businesses interact with IT. Offering virtual utility computing services, managed service applications and virtual desktops, the company takes the traditionally cost-efficient sector of IT and transforms it into a profit center.

“Vucci allows businesses to be more efficient with tighter budgets,” said Dave Affleck, CEO of Vucci.

Recently, Vucci implemented its services at Utah Valley University (UVU), which was maxed out of power on its IT infrastructure. After the implementation of the services, the institution was able to add more technology and also save more money. The computers at UVU now require less power to perform the same functions.

"The implementation of Vucci's services at UVU fall directly in line with our goal to move toward virtual technology and the opportunities that it provides," said Ray Walker, CIO at Utah Valley University. "The new Vucci-equipped computer lab, which will open in the coming weeks, is outfitted with virtual desktops allowing us to run the lab with higher efficiency while at the same time cut our energy, management and operating costs.”

In addition to UVU, Vucci is currently improving the IT of The Generations Network, J.P. Morgan and University Health Care. Vucci offers services in virtualization, architecture design and implementation, data center transformation, capacity planning and server consolidation and business continuity and availability.

“The business landscape has changed dramatically in the last few years and now more than ever, companies are looking for ways to cut costs without having to sacrifice performance,” Affleck said. “By offering innovative virtualization solutions, we are able to better meet our clients’ needs by cutting down on operating costs, lowering energy usage and maximizing output.”
