If you've been wondering whether the booming Intermountain West, known as the Bakken oil fields, offers opportunities for your business, you'll want to save the date for a one day seminar. Utah businesses will be the first to hear the results of a just-released report that explores the major needs and opportunities to do business in the Bakken region.
According to Arnie Sherman, President of Global Development Services and Executive Director of the Montana World Trade Center,“It’s hard to imagine the scale of what is happening in the Bakken. There are shortages of everything from housing and waste disposal to vehicle repair, and infrastructure equipment. We see opportunities for Utah businesses in sectors like construction, engineering, environmental remediation, finance, hospitality, transportation, water services and more. And we think that some smaller companies could look at banding together to meet the needs in both Montana and North Dakota.”
Mr.Sherman and Ed Wetherbee, Managing Director of the Northern Rockies Regional Center, of Montana, and former President of Colorado Energy Management in Boulder, discuss the current status of the Bakken oil field, needs created by the boom, the challenges of doing business in the region and what lies ahead.
Attendees will leave with the first copies of Tapping Opportunity in the Bakken. The report was sponsored by The Montana World Trade Center and the Missoula Economic Partnership and conducted by Global Development Services.
A catered lunch will be served. The cost for Utah businesses to attend is $149, which includes a complimentary copy of the report valued at $159. Seating is limited; please register today at http://tappinginthebakken.eventbrite.com.
