Salt Lake City – Westminster College’s Center for Entrepreneurship has chosen Clear Intentions as the first place winner in the 2013-14 Opportunity Quest business plan competition. Clear Intentions is a company that provides glass recycling and processing of glass cullet, waste glass that is crushed and ready to be manufactured into new product. Brittany Evans, team leader, accepted the award and a $5,000 check during the seventh annual award banquet on Jan. 30.
Evans’s mission is to move communities towards 100 percent glass recycling through education. Clear Intentions is now automatically entered as a finalist in the Utah Entrepreneur Challenge, where it will compete against teams from schools throughout the state.
Keeley’s Ski Camp for Girls took the second place prize of $2,000. Keely Kelleher turned eight years of racing on the U.S. Ski Team into an opportunity to share her wisdom and inspire girls. Keely’s Ski Camp for Girls gives young skiers the chance to be coached by world class athletes. The camp also won the Social category and another $2,000. Third place and a $1,000 check went to Jared McNeel of Med Solutions, a company that creates error reducing products for registered nurses.
Opportunity Quest is a business innovation competition that is open to all students at Westminster.
