VLCM, an IT provider for the Rocky Mountain Region, sponsored its fifth annual United Against Cancer Golf Tournament at the Wasatch Golf Course on September 19, 2012. This year, more than 300 participants supported this important cause and contributed to the fight against cancer.
The tournament benefited the Huntsman Cancer Foundation (HCF). All proceeds fund research and the development of new ways to diagnose and treat cancer. The main purpose of HCF is to support the mission of Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI).
“The Huntsman Cancer Institute started with one family’s dream and got off the ground with their initial investment, however, one family cannot do it alone. “We rely on the generosity of individuals, corporations and community groups,” said Lori Kun, director of development at HCF.
VLCM has been the IT partner to Huntsman Cancer Foundation since 2007, and a supporter long before then.
“Having VLCM as a partner has defrayed costs of doing business by providing workstations, servers and software for our non-profit organization. With the Huntsman family’s donation to cover most administrative costs and VLCM providing our IT needs and services, 100 percent of donor dollars fund their intended purpose—life-saving cancer research,” said Kun.
VLCM values the ideals of HCF and is honored to assist them in making a difference.
“Everyone’s lives have been affected by cancer to some degree. Research is a key to finding a cure and providing hope to individuals who are fighting cancer. We know Huntsman Cancer Foundation uses our donations for effective research that will touch thousands if not millions of lives,” said Michael Linton, VLCM vice president of managed services.
