Vivint, one of the largest home automation services companies in North America, unveiled a new app designed exclusively for the iPad that offers customers the ability to control home security, energy management and smart home features.
The Vivint iPad app can be downloaded for free and allows customers to take advantage of the large iPad screen, particularly useful when viewing single or multiple camera feeds throughout the home. The iPad app also provides added convenience when controlling security, energy management and home automation features from across town or across the country.
“Vivint is all about providing simple and convenient technology solutions for its customers,” said Jim Nye, Vivint’s vice president of product management. “Nearly 7 out of 10 tablet devices sold on the market today are Apple iPads, and our new iPad app embodies that philosophy by giving our customers another way to interface with their smart home solutions.”
Earlier this year, Vivint launched a mobile app supported by iPhone, BlackBerry and Google Android devices. Mobile access is a simple way for Vivint customers to monitor and manage energy use, and to ensure their homes and families are safe.
Vivint’s iPad app is ideal for busy individuals who juggle work and family responsibilities. “With the new iPad app, I have another way to stay connected with my home,” said Charlene Rees, a Vivint customer from Nacogdoches, Texas. “The remote capabilities that Vivint offers not only give me the control to see what’s going on in my house while I’m away, but also allow me to control my alarm and thermostat.”
In addition to offering remote access for home automation features, Vivint customers can also receive customized notifications from the app regarding security and other events in their home. Customers with iPads can choose to receive notices via email and regular texts or push notifications, which are similar to text messages but come directly from the app and are free.
