Vivint Adds New Layer of Intelligence to Smart Thermostat

Vivint, one of the largest home automation service companies in North America, introduced Smart Schedule Activity Patterns, a new energy-saving enhancement to Vivint’s already feature-rich Smart Thermostat.

The new layer of intelligence enables customers to optimize their thermostat settings based on data reported over time. Through the new feature, the home’s previous daily activity patterns are provided to the user, who can use that information to make adjustments to their thermostat schedule to maximize efficiency.

“The Vivint Smart Thermostat already came packed with features that reduced excess energy use, but with Smart Schedule Activity Patterns our customers can now have better insight into how they are managing energy usage, which gives them even more control,” said Jim Nye, vice president of product development for Vivint. “The option to customize our Smart Thermostat’s schedule to best match up with the daily activities of the home works in conjunction with other management features such as remote access and dual thermostat support. Ultimately, these give consumers the ability to make their homes as energy-efficient as possible, which is not only good for the planet, but it also reduces the cost of monthly utility bills.”
