Utah Ranked Among 'Least Generous' States for Covering Children Under Medicaid and CHIP

Press Release

March 27, 2014

Utah has been ranked among the “least generous” states for covering children under Medicaid and CHIP.

According to analysis of 2014 Medicaid data carried out by PointCare, a Utah family of four must make less than $47,400 annually for its children to qualify for comprehensive health coverage. That’s tied with Virginia, Nevada and Wyoming with the fourth-lowest income limit to qualify.

In New York, the state labeled “most generous,” a family of four can make up to $95,400 annually and still qualify. Arizona, labeled “least generous,” must make less than $33,400 to qualify.
