The Utah Jazz and Fresh Market are teaming up to offer healthy options to Jazz fans throughout the 2012-13 NBA season. In conjunction with JazzFit, a Utah Jazz program which encourages fans to achieve a happier, healthier, active lifestyle, Fresh Market will provide a produce stand offering the freshest seasonal fruit to Jazz fans looking for healthy options while cheering on their favorite team. All proceeds from the fresh produce stand will be donated to the YMCA of Northern Utah.
“When we launched our JazzFit program, our goal was to increase awareness of fitness and wellness among our fan base,” said Jazz President Randy Rigby. “By partnering with Fresh Market on this innovative collaboration, we are now able to further promote our objectives by offering additional healthy options at our concession stands.”
Fresh Market’s produce stand at EnergySolutions Arena offers fresh bananas, apples and oranges for Jazz fans to easily enjoy during home games. Abby the Apple, Fresh Market’s new mascot, will also make select appearances.
“Our exciting new partnership with the Utah Jazz will provide the most incredible fans in the NBA with the freshest produce available,” said David Rice, executive vice president of Fresh Market. “We are honored to provide these healthy snack options at our in-arena produce stand and to support the YMCA’s efforts to promote greater health and well-being.”
“The YMCA of Northern Utah is honored to be affiliated with Fresh Market’s JazzFit initiative as it is a perfect fit with our mission,” said Richard West, CEO, YMCA of Northern Utah. “The YMCA's Healthy Living focus is directly aligned with what the JazzFit program aims to accomplish. This generous partnership with Fresh Market allows us to increase the impact the YMCA is making in our cause to help youth, adults and families live a healthy and balanced lifestyle.”
