UPMA Launches Mobile Pay Parking

Salt Lake City—Utah Property Management Associates LLC launched a partnership with PassportParking on April 29. Through this partnership, drivers parking in select UPMA parking lots will be able to use their cell phones to pay for parking. Through this initial launch, PassportParking's technology will be available at UPMA's Plum Alley, West Temple, North Temple and 400 West parking lots. The company eventually plans to make PassportParking's technology available at of all its 14,000 parking spaces throughout Salt Lake City, including the City Creek Center Parking.

"We are excited to be partnering with PassportParking," said Jeff Shaw, parking manager. "Mobile payment is the future of parking because it offers drivers incredible flexibility and convenience. No longer do parkers have to scramble to find change for meters or rush back to their vehicles when they are running out of time.”

To use the mobile pay system, customers register on-site for free via the PassportParking Mobile Pay app or voice system. Once securely registered, motorists can pay for parking by using the mobile payment option, calling a toll-free number, or texting their zone and space information. Motorists can also select the option to receive text message alerts and reminders 15 minutes prior to the expiration of their parking session. Additionally, drivers who use PassportParking's mobile pay technology will be able to log in using their Facebook accounts to find nearby businesses that offer validation. After visiting a participating business, parkers merely input the appropriate code to automatically receive their parking discount.

In addition to providing a more convenient payment option for customers, this partnership also gives Utah Property Management Associates access to PassportParking's fully integrated cloud-based revenue control and parking management tools. PassportParking's enterprise suite of software solutions will help UPMA manage their facilities more efficiently and cost-effectively by providing real-time access to revenue, enforcement, and rate data.
