Park City — Supplemental Physicians, the temporary physician staffing division of Supplemental Health Care has been certified for the Gold Seal of Approval by the joint commission for healthcare staffing services.
"The healthcare industry is in a challenging time with implementation of the Affordable Care Act, which is placing unprecedented demands on the healthcare workforce,” said Cory Kreig, Supplemental Physicians division vice president. “In particular, the country faces a shortfall of 91,500 primary care and specialty physicians in the next six years. Meeting those physician needs, paramount to maintaining a high standard of care in healthcare facilities, is increasingly demanding as patient loads increase."
The Joint Commission's health care staffing services certification program was established in 2004 to evaluate the competency of a staffing company's services for its facility partners. Firms certified by the joint commission undergo unannounced reviews every other year. These reviews focus on a company's overall ability to provide competent staffing services, including performance, placement criteria, compliance and credentialing processes, continuing education and training, and other areas.
