Two St. George Tech Firms Merge

St. George – BUSYBUSY.COM acquired CABOSOFT, LLC, a custom software and mobile application development firm founded in 2008. Cabosoft was an early partner and investor in busybusy, building out its web and mobile platforms.

Busybusy.com is a multi-featured project management software designed to track various business processes. According to founder Isaac Barlow, busybusy needed to expand its development staff to keep up with demand. The company had 15 employees, not including sales agents, while Cabosoft had nine.

The founders of Cabosoft joined busybusy, with Jason Madrid becoming CTO, and Jim Boyd and Brad Campbell leading the mobile technology teams. Campbell says existing clients of Cabosoft will be fully served during the transition, and their projects will be completed.

“Busybusy.com offers us the opportunity to develop better software than was possible as contract engineers, because a long-term, product-based effort affords greater attention to good development practices than most short-term projects are willing to invest,” says Boyd.

Campbell said that one of Cabosoft’s goals has been to create jobs for Southern Utah—not just any jobs, but career jobs with above average wages and living conditions. “Busybusy.com provides this path for us,” he says. “We expect to be one of the largest tech companies in the region, and hopefully the coolest place to work, not only for software developers, but for sales, marketing—you name it.”

Busybusy.com moved to new offices located at 446 S. Mall Drive.

St. George – Franchise group SRE CORPORATION plans to build a new JIFFY LUBE service center within the Boulder Creek Commons retail development located at the intersection of River Road and 1450 South. SRE Corporation owns and operates 16 Jiffy Lube locations in Utah, including sites in Utah, Iron and Washington counties. The Boulder Creek location will be the third Jiffy Lube location in Washington County.

Construction is scheduled to start in early spring 2014 with a planned opening in mid-summer 2014. The Jiffy Lube will be developed by NOVASOURCE SUN WEST, a retail developer headquartered in Salt Lake City. NAI UTAH SOUTH assisted the buyer with the site selection search and purchase.

Monticello – GREENBRIAR CAPITAL CORP. began construction on an 80-megawatt Blue Mountain Utah wind energy site. Blue Mountain is a fully contracted wind energy project holding a 20-year energy sales agreement with PacifiCorp.
