South Salt Lake — On Monday, Sept. 23 at 5:30 p.m., South Salt Lake Mayor Cherie Wood will open the city’s newest park and green space at McCall Park, located at 3702 South 250 East. The park features new playground equipment built by volunteers from General Electric Community Service Day, United Way Day of Caring, K2 the Church service events and others.
Projects at the park site included the installation of new playground equipment, painting and landscaping surrounding the park neighborhood; and installation of solar lights and other neighborhood enhancements.
“McCall Park represents a dedication to realize our goal of creating a more safe, clean, and beautiful place to live, learn, work, worship, and play,” Wood said. “We appreciate all of the volunteer hours, coordination, and resources that our community partners have contributed to revitalizing this green space and building our newest playground.”
“We are excited to welcome the youth and families of South Salt Lake to recreate in this new redesigned green space, and extend a special invitation to parents of young children to explore the new equipment,” said Aaron Wiet, cirector of South Salt Lake Parks and Recreation.
