Salt Lake City – Red Touch Media has joined forces with MetraWeather, New Zealand-based provider of forecast data and weather presentation services, to create a new e-store to streamline distribution of ready-to-play weather clips for television news outlets.
The MetraWeather ClipStore is expected to enable news producers, editors and broadcasters to review, purchase and download location-specific weather clips that are ready for on-air programming. News outlets can also request MetraWeather to create custom-branded clips tailored for their specific audiences. ClipStore clips are produced on the MetraWeather Weatherscape XT presentation platform already used by such international broadcasters as the BBC and Channel Nine in Australia.
ClipStore will launch with forecasts and weather news clips for major European cities and countries. In addition, ClipStore will also offer match-by-match weather forecasts for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil during June and July. In coming weeks, ClipStore will add news clips of weather events and forecasts for other special events, such as festivals, live performances and sports tournaments.
