SME Steel Contractors, Inc. appointed WAYNE SEARLE as its CEO. Searle has served as president of SME Steel for the past four years. He has more than 34 years of experience in the structural steel construction industry.
NICK ANNISON joined Needle as its vice president of sales over the Western United States. Most recently, Annison was an enterprise account executive managing strategic accounts at Adobe Systems in the digital marketing business unit. Annison spent five years at Omniture and an additional two years at Adobe after its acquisition of Omniture.
VLCM Marketing Director LYNDA MELLOR was awarded Marketing Executive of the Year by the Utah Technology Council (UTC). Mellor serves on the communications committee and has helped with public relations and event planning for the organization. She also has been the chief executor in hosting many peer-to-peer forums for UTC on behalf of VLCM.
Visit Salt Lake hired KIMBERLY LEARY as director of convention sales, focusing on the education market. The organization also named TOBIN “TOBY” HUEBNER the director of sports market sales, responsible for securing athletic-oriented events, meetings and conventions in and around the Salt Lake area. Leary brings 15 years of hotel sales experience, most recently as director of group rooms for Salt Lake City’s Sheraton Hotel. Huebner, previously worked as sales manager for both the Salt Palace Convention Center and South Towne Expo Center.
Richter7 hired MARK BANGERTER as a senior experiential designer. Prior to Richter7, Bangerter worked as an art director for multiple companies and gained over seven years of experience in the art direction industry.
PAUL C. BURKE was named Pro Bono Attorney of the Year for 2012 by the Utah State Bar. Burke was presented with the award on May 1, 2012 during the Utah State Bar’s annual “Law Day” celebration. Burke was recognized for his significant pro bono work during the preceding year.
Alliance Health Networks named DAN HICKEY senior vice president of products. Hickey will oversee the company’s consumer-facing properties, including the design and application engineering for its growing portfolio of health communities. Prior to joining Alliance Health Networks, Hickey led the strategy and development of Meredith Corporation’s digital portfolio
Intermountain Healthcare’s board of trustees named SCOTT ANDERSON as chairman and BRUCE REESE as vice chairman of the board. Anderson is president and CEO of Zions First National Bank. Reese is president and CEO of Hubbard Radio LLC.
People Water, Inc.’s board of directors named KEN BRETSCHNEIDER as CEO. Bretschneider was previously founder and CEO of DigiCert, Inc., an online security provider, and he continues to serve as executive chairman of the board at DigiCert.
SMG, manager of Salt Lake’s Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center and South Towne Exposition Center, appointed DANIEL HAYES to general manager of both its Salt Lake facilities. A 12-year employee of SMG, Hayes most recently held the position of facility director/assistant GM.
The Romney Institute of Public Management at Brigham Young University honored SHEILA C. BAIR as its 2012 Administrator of the Year. Bair was recognized for her service as the chair of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation during the recent economic downturn. Bair’s leadership during a tumultuous period in the nation’s financial sector has led her to receive many accolades, including being named by Forbes magazine as the second most powerful woman in the world in 2008 and 2009, behind Germany’s chancellor Angela Merkel. Also in 2008, Bair topped The Wall Street Journal’s annual 50 Women to Watch list.
JOSEPH P. BARRETT joined Tesch Law Firm as shareholder and senior litigator. Barrett is an active member of the Utah and New Jersey bars. He has worked with one of Utah’s oldest and largest law firms as well as the New Jersey Attorney General’s office, among others.
MICHAEL JAQUET was named chief marketing officer for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA). Jaquet will take over leadership responsibilities for sponsorship, licensing, suppliers, and media sales and marketing for the Olympic sports organization and its U.S. Ski Team, U.S. Freeskiing and U.S. Snowboarding brands. Jaquet comes to the USSA from CBS Sports Network, where he was vice president of television and properties sales.
Cushman & Wakefield/Commerce hired JACOB C. COX as director of retail in its St. George branch office. Cox has held a variety of positions in commercial real estate including broker, sales manager, president and partner.
