West Jordan — Peterson Development has announced plans to build a master-planned community, The Highlands, in West Jordan.
The master-planned-community has the potential for more than 2,900 homes and high-profile office and commercial buildings. The project is planned to cover 370 acres located off of the 5600 West corridor at 7800 South. It is planned to include amenities of trails and small outdoor community gathering spaces, as well as a diverse type of housing, including high-end and multi-family. It is also expected to include 100 acres of shopping and offices.
“The economy has come back enough to start looking at housing options,” said Peterson Vice President Justin Peterson. “In addition, the completion of the Mountain View Corridor to 7800 South in conjunction to the planned linkage of 5600 West on both sides of 7800 South represent huge infrastructure and quality-of-life upgrades to the neighborhood. We really want to make a place for community with this new development.”
