Salt Lake City — Control4 Corporation appointed its president and CEO,  MARTIN PLAEHN, as chairman of its board of directors. He replaces company co-founder Will West, who is resigning after ten years as chairman. The company also appointed Christopher B. Paisley as lead independent director.

 

Salt Lake City — The American Board of Pathology (ABP) and ARUP Laboratories selected ARUP's president and CEO, EDWARD ASHWOOD, as a trustee to the ABP board beginning. Ashwood joined ARUP in 1985 and is a professor of pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine.


Salt Lake City — Celtic Bank promoted SCOTT PETTY to vice president of business development in its asset-based lending group. Petty began his career at Celtic Bank in 2009 and most recently served as the credit and operations manager and lead underwriter. The bank also hired MICHAEL CARON as vice president of business development in its asset-based lending group. Caron has more than 30 years of experience in commercial banking and finance.

 

Salt Lake City — Gov. Gary Herbert appointed former Lieutenant Governor GREG BELL as chair of the Utah Science Technology and Research (USTAR) Governing Authority. Bell, now president and CEO of the Utah Hospital Association, takes the place of outgoing chair Dinesh Patel, a business leader who has led USTAR since its inception in 2006.

 

Salt Lake City — SHAWN TALBOTT became global chief science officer at LifeVantage Corporation effective Jan. 6.

 

Salt Lake City —The Board of Trustees of Utah Hospital Association (UHA) promoted DAVID C. GESSEL to executive vice president. Gessel is a senior member of the UHA staff, serving as vice president of government relations and legal affairs since 1994.  

 

Ogden — TAB Bank promoted JUSTIN GORDON to senior vice president of sales and marketing. Prior to his new assignment, Gordon served as vice president and national sales director for TAB Bank.

 

Salt Lake City — Allegiance named AL NEVAREZ to the newly created position of vice president of data science. Nevarez was previously vice president of product management at Allegiance.
