Salt Lake City — Gov. Gary R. Herbert appointed SHARON S. SIPES to fill a vacancy on the Second District Juvenile Court bench. Sipes has operated her own private practice since 1998 with the Law Office of Sharon S. Sipes in Ogden.

Provo — Vivint appointed MARK DAVIES as the company's new chief financial officer. Before joining Vivint, Davies worked at Alcoa.

Salt Lake City — Utah Symphony | Utah Opera appointed BARLOW BRADFORD as Utah Symphony chorus master and CALEB HARRIS as Utah Opera chorus master. Bradford is known in Utah for his work with the University of Utah choirs and the Utah Chamber Singers. Harris comes from the University of Northern Colorado, where he served as associate professor of music.

Salt Lake City — KAT FALCONE is the new media director at The Summit Group. Falcone has 12 years of experience in the industry.

Salt Lake City — CEO of University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics DAVID ENTWISTLE is the new chair of the Community Advisory Board for the Masters of Healthcare Administration at the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business. He assumes the role after serving as a member of the Community Advisory Board since its inception in 2011.

Salt Lake City — The David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah has hired J. DANIEL “DANNY” WALL as associate professor of finance and the Master of Science in Finance and the Master of Real Estate Development programs.

Salt Lake City — Tanner LLC announced that REED W. CHASE has been elected an audit partner at the firm. Chase has more than 12 years of experience serving public and privately held companies.

Salt Lake City — Westminster College appointed MELISSA FLORES as its new general counsel. Flores most recently served as the chief civil rights officer for the Canyons School District.
