Utah Governor Gary R. Herbert named State Representative SPENCER J. COX to replace Greg Bell as lieutenant governor. A former Sanpete County commissioner and Fairview mayor and city councilman, Cox is presently the vice president of CentraCom, a rural telecommunications company.
Layton Construction Co., Inc., named BRYAN WEBB, previously executive vice president of Layton’s Interior Construction Specialists, Inc., as executive vice president of its construction services business unit. Webb has more than 11 years of industry experience. Under his leadership, Layton completed projects such as the 600,000-square-foot ATK Commercial Aircraft Center of Excellence build-out and has undertaken the build-out of Boeing’s new 850,000-square-foot facility in West Jordan.
Layton has also promoted PENN OWENS from business development manager to executive vice president of Interior Construction Specialists, Inc., replacing Webb. Owens has 10 years of industry experience. Some of his project experience includes the Fusion-io corporate offices and the Stein Eriksen Lodge Spa and Conference Center addition.
Layton Construction hired DAN VELAZQUEZ as business development manager of its Interior Construction Specialists, Inc.
DAWN MARIE RUBIO was appointed to the position of Juvenile Court administrator for Utah’s juvenile courts. Prior to joining the Utah courts, Rubio served as assistant director for the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts. From 1998 to 2009, Rubio worked with the National Center for State Courts as a principal court management consultant.
Westminster College hired JOHN BAWOROWSKY, Ph.D. as vice president for enrollment management. Baworowsky brings more than 30 years of experience in enrollment management, student affairs and marketing to the college. He has served as a vice president at several institutions and currently serves as a senior associate higher education consultant for Noel Levitz, the nation’s largest higher education consulting firm.
Intermountain Healthcare named GAIL MILLER to serve on its board of trustees. Miller is the owner of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies and serves as chairman of the organization’s advisory board. Miller is also the chair of the board of trustees for Salt Lake Community College and serves on the national advisory council for the University of Utah.
The Utah Department of Natural Resources selected ERIC MILLIS as the new director for the Division of Water Resources. He replaces DENNIS STRONG, who is retiring at the end of October. Millis has served as deputy director of the division since 2006.
Big-D Construction promoted CORY MOORE to senior vice president of business development, as well as to the board of directors. In his expanded role, Moore will lead business development efforts across Big-D’s seven offices and 14 operating groups.
