Town & Country Bank promoted WENDY HOLT and JOHN JONES to senior vice president. Holt joined the bank in 2008 and has served as the bank’s business development officer, as well as manager of its Women’s Banking Group. She is also the women’s conference chair for the Utah Bankers Association. Jones started at Town & Country as a loan officer in 2008, after moving from Centennial Bank, where he managed its St. George Office.
The Board of Directors of the Utah Safety Council hired JEFFREY HOUGHTON as president. Houghton has been with the Utah Safety Council since 2009 when he was originally hired to fill the role of Director of Administration. He brings more than 15 years of business and management experience and holds a Bachelors degree in Graphic Design, as well as a Masters degree in Organizational Management. Houghton has been hired to replace Robert Parenti who is retiring after many years of service as president of the Utah Safety Council.
JON PARRY, local attorney, recently earned the credential of Certified Exit Planner from the Business Enterprise Institute (BEI). Parry completed five months of training, in-depth coursework and rigorous testing to earn the designation.
Attorney BARBARA BAGNASACCO was named Utah’s International Woman of the Year by the International Trade and Diplomacy Office (ITDO) of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development. Bagnasacco, a partner in the Salt Lake City office of Ballard Spahr, was recognized for her outstanding commitment and contributions in promoting international business and trade between the State of Utah and Europe. She received the honor during Utah-Europe Days, a two-day event that brought together Utah businesses and European trade officials for networking and to discuss the European economy and how businesses can enter the European market. Bagnasacco is a founding member and co-host of Utah-Europe Days, the largest Europe event in the state.
JOSEPH M. STULTZ, an associate in the litigation department of Parsons Behle & Latimer, was named Pro Bono Publico Young Lawyer of the Year by the Utah State Bar at its Law Day Celebration. The award is given annually to a Utah attorney who demonstrates a commitment to providing legal services to individuals with limited means and has performed a significant amount of pro bono work. Stultz concentrates his practice on general commercial litigation and personal injury. He graduated with a J.D. degree in 2008 from the University of Utah College of Law, where he was a member of the Utah Law Review, elected to the Order of the Coif and graduated with highest honors. He was admitted to the Utah State Bar in 2008.
READ HELLEWELL, a Kirton McConkie Shareholder, was recently honored by the Utah State Bar with the Distinguished Real Property Practitioner of the Year Award. The Real Property Section of the Utah State Bar annually presents the Distinguished Real Property Practitioner of the Year Award to a real property lawyer who has distinguished himself or herself in the practice of law in the State of Utah. The recipient exemplifies the highest professional and ethical standards of the members of the section.
Clyde Snow Attorney BRENT R. BAKER has been appointed to the Utah Securities Commission by Gov. Gary R. Herbert. He joins four other Utah citizens to support the Utah Division of Securities in setting policy, adopting rules, and adjudicating enforcement actions brought by the Division. Baker brings extensive experience in fraud awareness education as well as white collar defense in matters of securities fraud, having spent more than 10 years serving the SEC in various positions, including Senior Special Counsel. He has given seminars on related topics and co-founded Fraud College, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of fraud prevention and detection strategies among the public. Since its inception, the organization has successfully held two conferences involving citizens, local civic and religious leaders, attorneys, and other professionals. Baker's other efforts to raise awareness have included an appearance on Utah Public Radio with Division of Securities Dir. Keith Woodwell.
JOHN LUND has been appointed as president and CEO of America First Credit Union, ffective September 1, 2012. Lund will be America First’s fourth president and CEO, following Rick Craig, James Dawson and Ray Hagan. Previously, Lund was an executive vice president and will work with Craig and the board of directors during the next few months for a seamless transition.
Larry H. Miller (LHM) Communications Corporation hired RANDY RODGERS to serve as general manager of the company’s radio stations. A native of Salt Lake City, Rodgers brings with him nearly 40 years’ experience working in the Salt Lake radio market, having most recently served as executive vice president for the Simmons Media Group.
