The Governor’s Office of Economic Development hired VINCENT MIKOLAYA as its new managing director of business outreach and international trade. Mikolay has worked with several early-stage startups including OneSchool, Inc. and Pannl, Inc. He has also previously worked for Nike Inc., The Walt Disney Company, Advent Entertainment and Ridemakerz, among others.
Bank of Utah hired JILL LAWRENCE to head up consumer lending services for its Ogden branch. She worked most recently for a local credit union as a consumer loan underwriter and a lead service representative and loan officer. Bank of Utah also hired RYAN GRANQUIST as vice president and bank-wide branch administrator. Granquist is a certified fraud examiner and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
WICK UDY joined Jones Lang LaSalle as vice president of its industrial division. Udy was previously at NAI West.
Humana Inc. promoted SEAN JOLLEY to small business market practice leader for Nevada and Utah. In his new role, Jolley will lead the small group commercial sales team in Nevada and Utah, implementing sales strategies to acquire new customers.
ADAM POLACSEK joined BHB Consulting Engineers as a project engineer intern. Polacsek is a participant of the Hungarian-American Enterprise Scholarship Fund (HAESF), a program that grants Hungarians professional experience in the United States. Polacsek will be employed with BHB for a year and then return to his home country.
AlphaGraphics appointed GAY BURKE as its new chairwoman. Burke joins the company from an executive background with extensive knowledge of consumer products.
Larry H. Miller Dealerships promoted four employees. CHAD BRAVENDER is now the general manager of Larry H. Miller Honda in Boise, Idaho. JIM BROWN become the general manager of Larry H. Miller Lexus of Murray and Larry H. Miller Lexus of Lindon. TY LEUTHOLD is the new store manager for Larry H. Miller Subaru Boise, and JOHN O’BRYAN has been named senior vice president of automotive operations for Miller Automotive Operations in Sandy.
The City of South Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce named MARIA IVANOVA, owner and founder of DF Dance Studio, as South Salt Lake Business Woman of the Year. This year marks DF Dance Studio’s five year anniversary. The studio, now located in South Salt Lake, is close to 5,000 sq. feet with plans to expand to more than 8,000 sq. feet by the end of this year.
Merrill Lynch financial advisor CARL L. LAURELLA was recognized among the top advisors in Utah by Barron’s magazine in its annual “America's Top 1,000 Advisors: State-by-State” list, published February 18.
Zions Bank selected three senior-level managers for executive vice president positions.They will be part of the bank’s 15-member Executive Management Committee that oversees the strategic direction of the bank. They are:
- JACOB HEUGLY, executive vice president of corporate services. Heugly began his career with Zions Bank in 1998, and was chosen to head corporate treasury management sales and strategy for Zions Bancorporation in 2012.
- JOHN STILL, executive vice president of commercial banking. Stillings has 40 years of banking experience, most recently serving as executive vice president of commercial lending.
-GEORGE MYERS, executive vice president of human resources. He joined Zions Bank in 1997 and was named senior vice president of human resources in 2006.
