The Murray Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors announced STEPHANIE WRIGHT as the new president.

MICHAEL JOHNSTON, SHAWN RICHARDS, and ADAM WAHLQUIST were elected shareholders at Kirton McConkie. Johnston is a member of the firm’s Employment and Litigation sections, Richards is a member of the firm’s Litigation section, and Wahlquist is a member of the firm’s Litigation section.

JIM LIU joined BHB Consulting Engineers as a project engineer. Liu received his B.S. in Architectural Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, California. Having worked 15 of his 25 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, Liu brings a wealth of experience in seismic building designs. He is licensed in several states and has worked on notable projects across the country.

PATRICIA A. RICHARDS of Utah Symphony | Utah Opera was named a recipient of OPERA America’s 2013 National Opera Trustee Recognition Awards. Each year, OPERA America professional member companies are invited to nominate one of their trustees for this award. Honorees from each of the four OPERA America budget levels are chosen by an adjudication committee through a competitive selection process.

Prince Yeates named attorneys CHARLES L. PERSCHON and JARED N. PARRISH as shareholders. The new role took effect January 1, 2013. Perschon joined Prince Yeates in 2010 and maintains a practice in appellate work and complex commercial litigation. Parrish is a trial lawyer and commercial litigator, devoted to matters involving securities litigation, fraud, equity receiverships, Ponzi schemes and federal appeals. 

JAMES ELDREDGE was named vice president sales of Sterling Ascend Insurance Resources. Eldredge joined Sterling Ascend after having spent nearly a decade in the insurance industry. He started out running his own agency and for the past five years has been with a large agency where he focused on commercial risks.

Mountain America Credit Union senior wealth advisor MICHAEL BLACKHAM was named one of the top 50 bank advisors in the United States by Bank Investment Consultant magazine. The list recognizes a small and distinguished group of bank and credit union advisors from across the country who have excelled in a variety of key investment management areas.

JAMES TURNBULL, chief information officer of University of Utah Hospitals and clinics, was named 2012 John E. Gall, Jr. CIO of the Year. The award, sponsored by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and HIMSS, recognizes healthcare IT executives who have made significant contributions to their organization and demonstrated innovative leadership through effective use of technology.

Bambara, a Kimpton restaurant in downtown Salt Lake City, named KIRSTEN THOMAS as the new director of catering. Thomas has established a strong reputation for providing beautifully orchestrated business and social events and boasts years of experience with full-service event planning.

Visit Salt Lake hired ELIZABETH BROWN as the new Director of Partner Relations. Brown has worked in the Utah tourism and lodging industry for over 20 years. Most recently, she was the Director of Sales and Member Services for the Utah Ski & Snowboard Association (Ski Utah). She's also had experience working for Morris Air, owned her own company (EB Ski Tours & Travel Company), and was a consultant for the Salt Lake Olympic Organizing Committee's Accommodations Division.

HARRIS H. SIMMONS, president, chairman and chief executive officer of Zions Bancorporation, and A. SCOTT ANDERSON, president and chief executive officer of Zions First National Bank were both honored as A Giant In Our City. The award presented by the Salt Lake Chamber is recognized as the most prestigious business award given in Utah. Simmons and Anderson will become the 33rd and 34th recipients of the award in its 43-year history.

Dental Select named CHIP HUFFMAN as the company’s first National Vice President of Sales and Marketing. This new position follows news of senior executive leadership expansion and organizational growth as Dental Select heightens business development in new markets throughout the United States.
