DAVID BUTTERFIELD has been named president and CEO of USU Charter Credit Union. Butterfield recently served a term as a legislator in the Utah House of Representatives. He received his bachelors in English from Utah State University, where he served as student body president, and received his MBA from BYU’s Marriott School of Management.
The St. Regis Deer Valley appointed SHANE M. BAIRD as chef de cuisine at the hotel’s J&G Grill. A member of the original 2009 opening team for J&G Grill, Baird brings to the position comprehensive knowledge of food, beverage, events and operations at this signature Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant, which is staffed by a team of more than 175 professionals during peak season. Baird came to J&G Grill with considerable experience in menu development and special events. His background includes work as sous chef with Joie de Vivre Hospitality in San Francisco. Baird attended New England Culinary Institute in Burlington, Vermont and trained in Spain under Michelin-starred Chef Martin Berasategui in modern Basque cuisine, and in France with Michelin-starred Chef Yann Plassard in Nouvelle French cuisine. Baird also studied at La Escuela Tandem Centro de Idiomas in San Sebastian, Spain.
RACHAEL S. JACOBY, MD, a retina specialist, has joined Richens Eye Center, where she will provide treatment for retina and vitreous diseases, including retinal detachment, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Jacoby received a bachelor’s degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Arizona in 1999 and earned her MD from Creighton University Medical School in Omaha, Nebraska. She completed an internship and residency in ophthalmology at the Moran Eye Center University of Utah School of Medicine. She then completed a retina fellowship in 2009 at the Moran Eye Center.
Ballard Spahr real estate attorney CRISTINA CORONADO has been named 2013 President-elect of CREW Utah, the Utah chapter of the Commercial Real Estate Women Network. Coronado will become president of the organization in 2014. Coronado has been a member of CREW Utah since 2010 and has been a member of its Board for two years. She served as Membership Chair in 2011 and is currently Secretary.
EnableUtah hired LANDON HALVERSON as the vice president of rehabilitation services. Halverson comes to the organization with 20 years of community and non-profit experience. Halverson has a MBA from Westminster College of Salt Lake. JARED DAIN was promoted to the vice president of sales and marketing. Dain has an MBA from Weber State University. EnableUtah provides employment opportunities and job skill development for individuals with disabilities.
KYLE E. MCSLARROW joined Comcast Cable Communications’ West Division as regional vice president of the Mountain Region overseeing operations in Utah and Arizona. For the past 18 months, in addition to leading Comcast’s office in Washington, D.C., McSlarrow worked closely with the business operations in the Metropolitan area. He will now focus full time on Comcast’s business operations.
