The V Foundation for Cancer Research named TRUDY G. OLIVER, Ph.D., of the University of Utah Huntsman Cancer Institute as a 2012 V Scholar. Seventeen cancer researchers were selected nationwide as a part of the Foundation's $3.4 million initiative to fund "rising star" physicians and scientists as they begin their careers. Each researcher will receive $200,000 to further his or her work over the next two years.
Commercial real estate veteran JEFF ROBERTS joined the Salt Lake Office of Coldwell Banker Commercial NRT (CBC) as a senior associate. Roberts is charged with expanding CBC’s representation in Utah and the Intermountain area across all major commercial real estate sectors including local and national retail, office, restaurants and businesses.
SEAN PARRY was named vice president of marketing and a member of the executive leadership team at BidSync. Parry will lead marketing strategy, response and lead management and product marketing. Parry brings more than 20 years of global marketing experience to his new position at BidSync.
The Utah Technology Council (UTC) announced FRED LAMPROPOULOS and JOSH JAMES as its 2012 inductees into the UTC Hall of Fame. Lampropoulos and James will be honored at the UTC’s Hall of Fame Celebration on Nov. 30 at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City.
DAVID WEST, CLU, ChFC, joined Intermountain Financial Group, the Utah Agency of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual), as a financial services professional with more than 30 years of industry experience. West joined the firm to enhance his product offerings for his current and future clients. West is the principal and owner of a financial services consulting company, West Capital Advisors, Inc., that assists insurance agencies and insurance agents in the development of revenue generating opportunities.
LYNN CARDEY-YATES will assume a new role at Kennecott Utah Copper as the vice president of sustainable development beginning Oct. 1, 2012. In her new role, Cardey-Yates will lead Kennecott’s health, safety, permitting and environmental teams, oversee energy programs, and manage all water and land resources, including Daybreak. She will also work with community leaders, regulators and other stakeholders to garner continued support for sustained business growth.
